Concerts in the Park Summer Series 2009

It’s going to be another great summer of entertainment at Concert Park in Playa Vista. Be sure to mark your calendars. Then bring your beach chair or blanket, kick back watch the sunset and enjoy the shows.

* Headliner: Pine Mountain Logs
* Time: 5pm – 6:30pm
* Prepare yourselves, if you can, for cover songs performed with such energy and attitude, with voices so pure and performances so transcendent, that you might just find yourself, against your better judgment, dancing so hard that your legs snap off, leaving your torso flopping helplessly — yet happily — into a musical oblivion. Such is the power of The Pine Mountain Logs.

Playa Vista Farmer’s Market, The Stephanie Younger Real Estate Update

Starting on Saturday June 6, from 9am to 2pm, Playa Vista will welcome its first Farmer’s Market. Similar to other local farmers markets, this one will have vendors offering a variety of items including the usual fresh seasonal produce as well as prepared foods. Come enjoy the culture of an open-air farmer’s market and the convenience of buying your produce within walking distance from your home. The addition of the farmer’s market is a continuation of Playa Vista’s philosophy; “where residents can live, work, shop and play in their own community!”

Sad news for Green Space in Playa del Rey, The Stephanie Younger Real Estate Update

As most of you know, the Playa del Rey and Westchester areas are not exaclty rife with pocket parks and green areas. One thing our neighborhoods have always been short on are small areas of green space to sit or walk a dog, pocket parks for children to safely play, etc. That’s why the green park in Playa del Rey near 79th and Gulana had become such a beloved place by so many local residents. So I’m sure we are all disappointed to know that the Southern California Gas Company has announced their need to close the green park to the public. Whether you were a dog lover and used this as your local dog park, or just appreciated having a little open space and elbow room in your community, I know you’ll be interested in the following article from The Argonaut announcing the closure of the park.
